1980's Bjarne Danish Freehand

Bom dia, comunidade cachimbística do Brasil (e do mundo - de acordo com o rastreio de acessos por localidade do blog).
Com grande prazer e entusiasmo que vos apresento o mais novo membro do meu pipe rack.
Esse Bjarne cujo grande mentor nos entristeceu com seu falecimento em fevereiro do ano vigente. Sem mais delongas, vamos às fotos, que falam por si só e dispensam meus suspeitos comentários.

A mão que segura o Bajrne na foto acima não pertence a mim (tampouco pertence o Rolex que a adorna, infelizmente), mas sim ao simpático vendedor, que registrou o seguinte relato referente ao cachimbo em questão:

"...barely and carefully formerly enjoyed condition, smooth straight grain, "Bent Danish Freehand" shaped pipe, with an vulcanite integral base, and a yellow acrylic stem, that was crafted by Bjarne of Denmark, in the 1980's.

The overall balance feels perfect as does the hand feel. The draft is effortless. A pipe cleaner will pass to the bottom of the bowl with a "twist". The acrylic stem is cut nice and thin for comfort in the mouth.

Here are the dimensions: The overall length is about 6.20". The bowl height is 2.50" (at the high point at the back of the bowl). The bowl rim measures about 2.15" in diameter. The tobacco chamber is about 0.875" in diameter, and tapers down the bowl's 1.75" inner depth. Capacity is similar to that of a Group 5 to 6 size Dunhill pipe. The weight is 88 grams. "

Boa tarde, confrades!

Após um tempo ausente, venho pela segunda vez quase seguida com uma novidade. Coisa boa!
Karl Erik é mais uma exemplo de destreza que confirma a fama dos dinamarqueses no mercado mundial dos cachimbos. Arrematei a peça abaixo, cuja única marcação é "Knute of Denmark", que é uma submarca (talvez um second - a confirmar) deste artesão. Belíssimo cachimbo, rústico, com jateamento no padrão "ring grains" e um fornilho alto que promete queimar por um par de horas.

Good Bowl Capacity

A very attractive early Knute of Denmark with lots of character. As you see the bowl and shank sides show straight vertical and ring grain and the top rim and shank are natural plateau, really pretty. Knute is one of many confirmed brands made by Karl Erik and he’s a master carver. It’s a somewhat large size at 6 1/2” long with good tobacco capacity in a taller bowl, measuring 2” deep by 7/8” at the top. Comfortable in the hand, has a nice feel and rustic look. The stem has some moderate tooth marks on the button itself, but none deep or causing concern. The pipe is freshly reconditioned, draws very easy, polished and ready to smoke!
